What would you do if your website was hacked and infected with malicious software, or worse yet, destroyed all together? Score of websites are currently undergoing brute force attacks on their security. How would you like to be able to tether your laptop to your smartphone and avoid the ridiculously expensive monthly tethering data plans charged by your cell phone carrier? Now you can.

Tether.com uses HTML5 to create a connection on your phone that supplies Internet availability to your laptop (tethering). This is great for situations where you don’t have a WiFi connection or when the rates are outrageous. When I am attending a convention with my company, many exhibit halls charge as much as $99 per DAY! With Tether.com, you can connect for $29.95 a YEAR. That’s a savings of about a billion dollars or something (I didn’t actually do the math right there).

Believe me, I know the feeling. Regular breaks can be a good thing, but you have to stay in control of those breaks. There are numerous methods for this such as the Pomodoro Technique, or simply setting a timer to reminder yourself to step away for a few minutes. A business coach I once worked with suggested taking a five minute break every ninety minutes. I find this keeps me refreshed, but also gives me something to look forward too without too much of a wait.

One of my favorite writers, bloggers, and speakers is Michael Hyatt. Last week he released his latest book, Platform, and I bought it almost instantly. I jumped on it because it was something I eventually wanted to read, but he was giving away a TON of free stuff to those who purchased by a certain date, so I went ahead and snagged my copy (great marketing job, Michael!). I should have my hard copy in my hand tomorrow.

One of the items in the long list of “freebies” was a .MOBI version of the book to load onto my Kindle. The problem is, I used the Kindle software on my iPad. I scoured the web for a way to get a book not bought on Amazon downloaded to my iPad in Kindle format. (I bought the hard copy on Amazon, but the Kindle version was downloaded from a link on MichaelHyatt.com.) Not easy. I even downloaded the go-to software for converting and transferring ebooks. Nothing. Then I stumbled on a discussion thread about transferring .MOBI files to iPad via iTunes. Still took a little doing, but now it’s amazingly easy.

To save you the trouble, here are the quick and easy instructions.
